Shannon Cunningham is a senior at San Diego State University. She plans to graduate with a Bachelor's in Journalism in May 2026. Shannon is also a student-athlete at San Diego State, competing for the softball team for the last two years. She has played collegiate softball for four years now, two years at Arizona State University while studying Sports Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and two years here at San Diego State. She chose San Diego State because of the vibrant city and potential career opportunities, all while continuing her career and education.
Shannon plans to attend graduate school after completing her education at SDSU and aims to earn her degree in either Sports Management or Communications while serving as a graduate assistant for the university's softball program. She has aspirations to become a sports writer or analyst for a professional sports team. Her sports interests are in MLB, NFL, NHL, NWSL, Collegiate Sports, and the Olympics. If she doesn't plan on joining the journalism world, Shannon plans on becoming a collegiate coach. She also has interests in food and culture, and someday hopes to travel to every continent on the planet.
A quote that she lives by is, "She believed she could, so she did," by R.S. Grey.
